A Mosaically alternative for your phone and your group
Mosaically is a well-known online photo mosaic maker. If you want to work from your phone, collect photos from friends, or make word art and stone mosaics too, Imagia is worth a look.
Free to create and preview. Pay per download, no subscription.
Both are online tools where creating and previewing a mosaic is free and you pay for the high-resolution result. Here is where they differ, so you can choose the one that fits what you're making. We make Imagia; details about Mosaically are as it presented itself in October 2026.
Imagia and Mosaically side by side
Mosaically is built around sharing and community: you can browse other people's mosaics and collaborate on one. Imagia is built around making the piece itself, on any device, and getting it ready to print.

Made from your camera roll
Most of your photos live on your phone. The Imagia apps for iPhone and Android read them straight from your gallery, and the same project opens in the web studio when you want a bigger screen.
Everyone's photos, one link
For a wedding, a birthday or a farewell, send one link. Guests add photos from their phones without creating an account, and you build the mosaic from all of them. At an event, a live group mosaic can fill up on a screen as photos arrive.
Control over how it looks
Choose square, portrait or landscape grids so no photo is cropped sideways, mixed tile sizes that give faces more detail, or use every photo only once. Tiles are matched by colour, brightness and structure, and you can zoom in with a loupe before you download.
Downloads are print-ready up to 20,000 px and come with a free animated video of the mosaic assembling.
When Mosaically may suit you better
If you want to browse a large public gallery of other people's mosaics for inspiration, or order a print directly from the same site, Mosaically offers that. If you want to make it from your phone, with your group, or in other styles, try Imagia.
Made to be displayed
A finished mosaic is a real piece of art — the centerpiece of a lobby, an unforgettable gift, or a mural people gather around.
Every mosaic exports in print-ready high resolution, at any size.
